What is Home Insurance?
Home insurance covers your building and household contents against fire, natural calamities, riots and similar events. In India the standard policy is Bharat Griha Raksha: contents are covered automatically up to 20% of the building sum insured (max ₹10 lakh), and valuables, burglary and other covers can be added.
Why Is This Policy Vital?
Because rebuilding a home costs far more than most families expect
A home is usually a family's biggest investment. One fire, flood or earthquake can wipe out years of savings and EMIs. Home insurance helps you repair or rebuild without draining your savings.
