Welcome to CoverBizz.com ("CoverBizz", "Platform", "Website", "we", "us", "our"). CoverBizz is owned and operated by Catcon Insurance Brokers Private Limited ("Catcon", "the Company"), a company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013, and registered with the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India ("IRDAI") as a Direct Broker (Life and General) under IRDAI License No. 1008.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, process, store, share and protect the personal information of visitors to and users of CoverBizz.com in connection with our insurance broking and related services. It also describes your rights in relation to your personal information and how you may exercise them.

By accessing or using the Platform, or by submitting your information to us, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your information as described herein. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Platform.

This Privacy Policy is published in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the SPDI Rules, 2011, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), and applicable IRDAI regulations.

Definitions
Consent
Any freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous indication of a Data Principal's wishes, by which they signify agreement to the processing of their personal data.
Data Fiduciary
Catcon Insurance Brokers Private Limited, which determines the purpose and means of processing personal data collected through the Platform.
Data Principal
The individual to whom the personal data relates, including a proposer, policyholder, insured member, nominee, or any visitor to the Platform.
Partners
Insurers, reinsurers, third-party administrators (TPAs), surveyors, banks, payment gateways, technology vendors, and other entities engaged by or associated with CoverBizz for the purpose of providing the Services.
Personal Data / Personal Information
Any data about an individual who is identifiable by or in relation to such data, whether directly or indirectly.
Platform
The website www.coverbizz.com and any related domains, sub-domains or digital properties operated by CoverBizz.
Sensitive Personal Data or Information (SPDI)
Shall have the meaning ascribed to it under the SPDI Rules, and includes information such as health data, financial information, and biometric data.
Services
Insurance broking, comparison, advisory, policy issuance facilitation, renewal, and claims-assistance services offered through the Platform.
You / User / Customer
Any person who accesses or uses the Platform.

Scope and Applicability

This Privacy Policy applies solely to personal information collected through the Platform (www.coverbizz.com). It does not apply to information collected offline or through any channel not linked to this Policy, nor to third-party websites that may be linked from the Platform — including insurer websites, payment gateways, or partner portals — which are governed by their own privacy policies.

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site before sharing information with it.

Information We Collect

The personal information we collect depends on the nature of your enquiry and the insurance product or service you seek, and may include:

Category Information Collected
Identity Information Name, date of birth, gender, PAN, Aadhaar (masked, only where mandated), passport or driving licence number, photograph, signature, and nominee/beneficiary details.
Contact Information Mobile number, email address, residential address, and registered business address.
Business Information Legal entity name, nature of business, industry/sector, number of employees, business registration certificate, GSTIN, business PAN, CIN, turnover/revenue band, and the name and designation of the authorised contact person.
Financial Information Bank account and IFSC details (for premium collection or claim payout), income proof, financial statements, and cheque or other payment details.
Health Information Medical history, pre-existing conditions, and health check-up reports — collected only where relevant to the product sought and with explicit consent.
KYC Documents Identity and address proof documents as prescribed under IRDAI KYC norms and the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002.
Technical & Usage Information IP address, browser and device information, cookies, pages visited, and clickstream data.
Communication Records Call recordings, emails, chat transcripts, and support tickets exchanged with our team.
We collect only the information necessary for the product or service you seek. If you do not provide requested information, we may be unable to generate a quotation, process a proposal, or service your policy.

How We Collect Your Information
Direct interactions — quote forms, proposal forms, claim forms, contact forms, and calls, emails, or chats with our team.
Automated means — cookies, web beacons, analytics tools, and server log files (see Section 8).
Third-party sources — insurers, reinsurers, TPAs, your employer (for group covers), banks, and other Partners, to the extent permitted by law.

How We Use Your Information
Generate and share insurance quotations across insurers
Facilitate proposal submission, underwriting, and policy issuance
Service existing policies, including renewals and endorsements
Assist with and coordinate claims with insurers and TPAs
Verify identity and conduct KYC/AML checks as mandated by law
Send policy-related communications and renewal reminders
Respond to enquiries, complaints, and grievances
Carry out internal research, analytics, and service improvement
With your consent, send promotional or marketing communications
Comply with legal, regulatory, and IRDAI reporting obligations
Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud
By providing your contact details, you authorise CoverBizz and its Partners to contact you by call, SMS, WhatsApp, or email, notwithstanding your NDNC Registry registration. You may withdraw this consent at any time as described in Section 13.

Legal Basis for Processing

Under the DPDP Act, we process your personal data on the following bases:

To process your insurance enquiry or service your policy.
Legal Compliance
Including IRDAI regulations and other applicable law.
Legitimate Uses
Recognised under the DPDP Act, such as purposes for which you voluntarily provided your data.

Disclosure and Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, or lease your personal information to any third party. We may share your information with:

Insurers and reinsurers — for quotations, underwriting, policy issuance, and claims processing.
Third-Party Administrators (TPAs), surveyors, and investigators — for claims assistance and verification.
Banks and payment gateways — to process premium payments and claim payouts.
Service providers — cloud hosting, data storage, communication, and analytics vendors engaged to support our operations.
Regulatory and government authorities — including IRDAI, courts, and law enforcement, where required by law.
Group or affiliate companies of Catcon Insurance Brokers Private Limited, for internal administration and analytics.
A successor entity — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or transfer of business, subject to equivalent protection.

All such third parties are contractually or otherwise bound to use your information solely for the purposes for which it was shared and to maintain its confidentiality and security.

Data Storage, Retention and Cross-Border Transfer

Your personal information is stored on secure servers located in India. We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy, or as required to meet legal, regulatory, accounting, or reporting obligations under the Insurance Act, 1938, IRDAI regulations, and other applicable law.

Where your information is transferred outside India, such transfer will be carried out in accordance with the DPDP Act and subject to contractual safeguards to protect your information.

Data Security

We implement reasonable security practices and procedures, including administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction, in line with the SPDI Rules. These include encryption of sensitive data in transit, access controls, and regular security reviews.

We do not store your full card or net-banking credentials; payments are processed through PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway partners. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Data

The Platform is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data of minors, except where such data — for example, of a minor family member as a proposed insured or nominee — is submitted by a parent or legal guardian as part of a policy application, with appropriate consent.

Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

Access
Request a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is processed.
Correct or Update
Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
Request Erasure
Request erasure of your personal data, subject to legal and regulatory retention obligations.
Withdraw Consent
Withdraw consent for processing at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
Nominate
Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.
Lodge a Grievance
Contact our Grievance Officer (Section 18) and escalate to the Data Protection Board of India if unresolved.

To exercise any of these rights, write to us at the contact details in Section 19. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request.

Marketing Communications and Opt-Out

You may opt out of promotional or marketing communications at any time by emailing sunil@coverbizz.com with your request, or by using the unsubscribe link provided in our marketing emails.

Even after opting out, you may continue to receive transactional or service-related communications necessary for administering your policy.

Links to Third-Party Websites

The Platform may contain links to insurer websites, payment gateways, or other third-party sites. This Privacy Policy does not apply to such third-party sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies before sharing any information with them. CoverBizz is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of any linked third-party website.

Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach likely to compromise your personal information, we will notify affected users and, where required, the Data Protection Board of India and/or IRDAI, in accordance with applicable law and within the prescribed timelines.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal and regulatory requirements. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Effective Date." We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.

Catcon Insurance Brokers Private Limited (operating CoverBizz.com) acts solely as an insurance broker and does not underwrite insurance risk. Final acceptance of risk, premium determination, policy issuance, and claims settlement remain subject to the underwriting guidelines and approval of the respective insurer. Premiums and terms displayed on the Platform are indicative unless expressly confirmed by the insurer.
