What is Motor Insurance
Motor insurance: protection for your vehicle on Indian roads
Motor insurance covers your car, bike or commercial vehicle against accidents, theft, fire and natural calamities, and covers your legal liability for injury or damage to third parties. Third-party cover is compulsory under the Motor Vehicles Act. Comprehensive cover adds protection for your own vehicle.
Why Is This Policy Vital for Vehicle Owners
Because Indian Roads + Murphy's Law = Mandatory Insurance!
India recorded about 4.8 lakh road accidents in 2023 (Ministry of Road Transport & Highways). Third-party cover is compulsory under the Motor Vehicles Act. Driving without it can mean a fine of up to ₹2,000 and/or up to 3 months' imprisonment. It's survival insurance for every vehicle owner!
